The neonatologists charge separately from the hospital and you will receive a separate statement for our services. You have thirty days to add your baby to most insurance plans. If the baby is not added, your insurance will deny the claim, and payment for our services will become your financial responsibility. If you have any questions regarding the services rendered to your baby or questions about your statement, please call our business office and our staff will be happy to assist you.

The billing office will contact you the morning after your baby is born to get information on the guarantor and the baby. At that time, we will need you to provide us with details about the insurance plan to which the baby will be added. For baby boys, we will discuss the option of having your baby circumcised. This procedure is elective and is NOT covered by Medicaid/MSCAN. We will require payment prior to performing the procedure.

Most commercial insurance plans allow thirty days to add the baby a policy. Once eligibility has been determined for the newborn, our claims are released for processing. It will usually take around 30 business days to receive correspondence/payment from the insurance. After the claim(s) have been processed by insurance, a statement for any remaining balance will be sent to the guarantor for payment.
